Menace of the Underdark Giveaway Winner!

As both of you who occasionally read this space may recall, a kind and generous DDO forumite by the name of Livmo offered up a digital download code for the Menace of the Underdark expansion pack, and asked DDOGamer to help give it away.

Menace of the Underdark Giveaway EntriesAnd so we have, in true DDOGamer fashion, meaning it took a couple of weeks and was totally lacking in quality in every possible way.

Yet in spite of that (and in spite of ourselves), nearly 70 of you entered for the giveaway. I asked you to describe why you wanted the expansion pack, and you all delivered. Nicely done, and very interesting entries they were!

I wish I had a prize for all of you, not just because of your stories (which I thoroughly appreciated) but because you also have to suffer through this blog, a near-daily batch of of inanity and uselessness where perfectly good pixels come to die.

But I digress. We are here on the weekend for a special cause: to choose a winner! So let’s be about it.

Win this Menace of the Underdark Expansion Pack!

While Turbine sleeps, finally, after an all-night session of Update 29 birthing pangs, we here at DDOGamer are rested and ready to give away this awesome prize.

Get your entry in, today, while you still can. And hurry it up, will ya? I want to get into the game and scope out the new content!

Check back tomorrow to see who won.

Happy contest, everyone!

After Further Review, Geoff Remains An IdiotAfter further review, Geoff remains an idiot

It seems that I unintentionally left 13 valid entries out of last week’s drawing for the last copy of the Stormreach Campaign.

Abomination!
except intentions were good
so … incompetence?

The worst case was astute reader Duvok, who did not get his haiku in the rotating haiku gif because he put it in the comments rather than submitting it via the haiku entry form, and then didn’t have his comment counted either because of my incompetence. A double whammy.

So yes, intentions are good, but intentions count only so much; responsibility requires action. Normally I espouse irresponsibility: less care = less stress = more happy. But this is different.

Yes, we know who has won the last copy of the Stormreach Campaign. And by we I mean me.

You on the other hand, you have to watch a video to see who it might be.

Oh, I’ll probably relent and just add the winner’s name to this post sometime tomorrow, but for now, you must watch.

Because I said so.

Congratulations to the winner!

Congratulations again!

This is all of the haiku entered during the Stormreach Campaign contest. 109 distinct entries, not counting duplicates and not counting article comments.

Only the haiku.

Some are silly, some are excellent, some are … not quite as excellent? … and many are just there to be contest entries. Which is perfectly fine, by the way.

But enough of my words. Let’s see yours!

Presented in random order, using a random font.

Stormreach Campaign Contest Haiku Entries

I completely love how this turned out. I think it may be the best GiF ever shown on this site.

Contest winner will be announced later this week. For now, enjoy the entries.

Awesome GIF is awesome.
