Mawry's Army
Mawry “Soloing”

I just finished soloing Murder By Night, a level 19 quest from the latest update, on Normal. It took about three minutes and earned me about 5K XP.

Which is not bad.

The Most Interesting Soloist In The WorldMy Gamer Girl and I had already duo’d the quest on Hard and again on Normal. It struck me then as the kind of quest that would be a good solo candidate.

  • Not a lot of casters
  • Not a lot of traps
  • No puzzles that require more than one player

Pretty much straight melee.

But then, I am counting it as a “solo” even though I had three hirelings and a summons with me the whole time.

Soloing in a party of five. Or as I like to call it, “Doing it right”.

🙂 😀 🙂

  1. Haha, its great especially if your short on time or may need to go afk to do a quest with full or half a party but you being the only player 😀

Also love the layout of your posts 🙂

  2. I ground that place into the dirt on my last life (PM). It’s an entertaining quest that’s not hard at all if you can take a hit and heal through it.

Looking forward to getting back in there again.

  3. Murder By Night…Doing it right…you may have a future in blogging here! 😉

  4. Nicely put/hirlings and one good partner can make all the adventures go smoothly… I still prefer having another human behind at least one toon/bow.. Love your posts keep up the grand work/salute…

  5. Oh, HECK yeah.

When aiming for bragging rights with my light Monks, I do go in bare (no hirelings or summons). But even with light soloing as you noted, I’m not against creating the necessary distractions needed for me to kill. It’s not like the hirelings or summons are that effective in slaying in Epic questing. They’re more meat shielding, the true “solid fog.” But bare soloing also keeping dungeon scaling down, and then I show foes the meaning of “overpowered.” 🙂

What do you think?
