My Gamer Girl. Irresistible.

The blog will be on autopilot for the next three weeks as my Gamer Girl and I head out on a multi-city nuptial adventure. Five cities, four time zones, more than eight thousand miles, it will be quite the marriage marathon.

But quite fun too. And hopefully, memorable in all the best ways.

Technically speaking, as you can see, I’ve already “put a ring on it“. But one must follow through on their promises, and I absolutely intend to finish what I started. Thus the wedding. The travel is not so necessary but still, is welcome, and we are both very excited about it. Very!

I wonder how many other couples have met in-game, playing DDO together. I am certain we are not the only ones, there must be at least several others. But whatever the statistic, add one more, another couple going from PUG to guild-mates to partners for life.

I am so lucky to have found her. Or actually, that she found me. Or that we found each other, the order of finding is not the critical part but rather the finding in itself. From everyone in the world, from everyone that played DDO, from everyone on Sarlona, two people met, and love happened. For life.

When we come back, everything will be different! Sort of? We already live together. But still, wedded bliss will descend on us and change everything, Right? Just a little, but nonetheless profoundly? We will be all married up and that has to matter. Yes?

In Game CoupleThere we are in-game, her totally-bad-ass Rogue and my just-plain-bad cleric. Black and white, hitter and healer, good and bad. But as people we are not nearly so opposite, we fit together like a two-piece jigsaw puzzle.

I’ve scheduled daily postcards to appear in our absence. No big deal, just more wallpapers, although some of the images are quite interesting. Yet no one gets too excited over wallpaper.

We’ll be back December 9 to restore the usual gaming-foolery that this blog is supposed to contain.

Wish us luck!

🙂 😀 🙂

  1. 🙂 Congratulations! 🙂 I’m so happy for you.. again! 😀

  2. Congratulations to you both!

  3. Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
    That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

    Huzzah! Huzzah!!
    Congratulations to you both!

  4. Congratulations, enjoy the trip and each other!!

  5. Congratulations! Have a great time 🙂

  6. It was wonderful to meet you both at GenCon this summer. As you enter your epic destiny together, may your strength in your bond be ever high, your wisdom in marriage never failing, and may you both never fail a saving throw (even if either of you should roll a 1) against debuffs and challenges in your path as you enter the greatest quest chain of all.

You may now loot the bride (and then she can loot you, too). Have a great wedding. 🙂

    • “You may now loot the bride” that is the best line ever. I wonder if i can get included in the actual ceremony? LOL

      • To me and my bride’s surprise, my pastor’s homily incorporated a talk of “The Matrix” characters that she and I played. With our wedding party and guests chock full of SF geeks, squees were abundant! Go for it! Have a little loot box on her, complete with chest-open jingle! 🙂 (Wait…now THAT chest opening…that’s later…)

  7. Congratulations and best of luck to you both. The loot gods have truly smiled upon you my friend.

  8. Congratulations! Gonna be awesome.

  9. Congrats. I wish you all the best in life and in DDO. Have a great extended honeymoon!

  10. Yaaaay! Have fun! 🙂

  11. ‘Bout time, er, um, that is, CONGRATULATIONS!! And Best Wishes! And Huzzah!

Hopefully you’ll fill in some details when you get back – I mean, 5 cities, 4 time zones…does that mean you’re going to have 5 different ceremonies? And 8,000 miles – I’m assuming that round-trip numbers? Sheesh, for someone who likes number-crunching and details, you sure left a lot out!

But I suppose that’s OK – you’ve probably got other things on your mind…

PS: Take a coat with you – most of the rest of the US is at least starting to get a little cold (even here in the great, Pacific Northwest). And unlike “the South”, that means 50-ish, not 70-ish (and that’s °F for those of you who don’t use a real temerature scale).

  12. Congratulations to you both!! Enjoy the travels!!

  13. Congrats and all that, to you two, I wish you all the best. 🙂

  14. Gratz, have a great time!

  15. Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts! See you in three weeks!

    🙂 😀 🙂

  16. OMG you are living the dream!!!

I’m so happy you found each other. Life is too short. Congratulations and have a fun and safe trip!

What do you think?
