Before there were guild airships there was the Portable Hole. A tavern, but one with no doors, it can only be reached via Teleport or Greater Teleport spell. Containing most everything a caster could want (vendor, repair, mail, scrolls, spell components) it was a handy place to base characters. It even loaded faster when you were entering or leaving the game.
If it had only had a bank it would have been perfect.
Now we have guild airships. With so many amenities (including, finally, a bank!), I rarely visit the Portable Hole. I totally would though if it had an airship portal.
I think there is a joke somewhere in the combination of Portable Hole and Airship Portal but I am not finding it. You’ll have to make up your own.
Meanwhile, I will fondly remember my first favorite parking place, and wish that it could be made relevant once more.
It’s the last big family Christmas in our rural North Carolina farmhouse. This big an endeavor is a full-time effort: thus another series of postcards sharing some of my favorite DDO views with you all. Happy Holidays! And don’t forget to enter the contest!
Hope you have/are having/had a great holiday! See you back here on January 5, 2015, with yet another two-fisted helping of useless tripe, DDOGamer-style.
