Astral Shard Asylum
100,000 shards. or, as I like to call it, $6,000

Six thousand dollars. No one would ever pay that for anything in game, and if they did, they wouldn’t be buying one item. They’d be buying an entire account chock-full of items. Except no, again, no one would ever spend $6,000 for any combination of anything in DDO.

And yet, someone has posted something on the astral shard exchange for 100,000 shards. Yesterday there were two items at 100,000 but one dropped off.

I’ve been selling everything I can that fits, and I am approaching 100 shards. Not one thousand, one hundred.

I imagine that this does not represent an actual attempt to sell an item, but rather is an elaborate means of getting free bank space. None of the items shown in the image above will ever sell, and most likely, none of them are intended to sell.

But. Still. 100,000 astral shards.

Ai yi yi.

  1. I suspect that selling the item wasn’t really a priority. πŸ™‚

  2. ASAH: Extra bank space without the AH’s posting fee!

  3. Imagine, though, if they were 100% serious about that price. That would be truly frightening. Haha

  4. This is definitely one exploit that I’d like to see nerfed. Not that I’ll be using ASAH. I’ve been intentionally avoiding it. It adds to confusion and there’s little there that I cannot find on my own or with a guildmate’s help.

  5. I’m totally for the maximum price control!
And do not post if you don’t want to sell πŸ˜‰

What do you think?
