Ejecta vs. Euphonia
A Test of Wills

EJECTA: Euphonia, open the cove door please.
EUPHONIA: 2387
EJECTA: No, really, I need in there. I’m making a glass cannon.
EUPHONIA: 2387
EJECTA: You don’t understand, it’s important! I’m nearly done.
EUPHONIA: 2387
EJECTA: But I have to go to work soon!
EUPHONIA: 2384
EJECTA: You look like a reasonable person to me, surely we can work something out …
EUPHONIA: 2384
EJECTA: But … but … but … [trails off]
EUPHONIA: [silent stare]
EJECTA: There’s hardly anyone here! Look around – everyone must have got their stuff over the weekend. There’s like three dudes left. And me.
EUPHONIA: 2379
EJECTA: How are three dudes and I going to get 2379 treasure map fragments? We’ll be here all day!
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: Oh I see what you’re looking at. There’s two steel dogs here too. But they don’t count!
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: Are you listening to me? The dogs don’t count!
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: [frustrated silence]
EUPHONIA: [stony silence]
EJECTA: I’ve got doubloons, lots of doubloons. What if I accidentally left … oh say … 1000 gold doubloons? What if I accidentally left 1000 gold doubloons here. Would you “hold them” for me? You know, [winks] permanently?
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: 2000?
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: 10000?
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: Not much of a talker, are you Euphonia?
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: But I don’t even need any more shards, all I need is gems. Come on on, LET ME IN!
EUPHONIA: 2377
EJECTA: You haven’t even reduced your map number. It’s only gone down by ten this whole time!
EUPHONIA: 2374
EJECTA: Fine. Have it your way. But I’ll be back! [stomps away in a huff]
EUPHONIA: [her face flickers, as if she might break into a small smile, but before she can]
ANOTHER DDO CHARACTER Euphonia, may I get into the Cove now please?
EUPHONIA: 2370

  1. I gave up on the cove when the new flasks came out. I was all excited and then complete misunderstanding of why the cove loot was good and i was done.

  2. I have things I want from the Cove, four things to be precise, but I don’t want them so much that I’m willing to Rusty Blades myself into the ground getting them.

    • And thus the problem of “event Loot mechanics”

This would make an awesome challenge, far better than a lot of others ones. I could stomach running it a lot if it was open year round, so that I could do a few runs here and there with friends. You know enough runs to get the job done over time, without running it exclusively while it is open.

  3. Okay. Mr geoffhanna, I don’t get it. Can I haz explanation?

  4. Ah, well. Maybe next time we get to pay Astral Shards to bribe the Kobolds to sail earlier for us! ๐Ÿ™

What do you think?
