It made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs
Able to complete the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs

Totally not DDO-related, not even gaming related, but just about the coolest thing I have found on teh interwebs in a long time: an interactive showing the relative speeds of all (or at least most) of the most famous space ships!

Mostly fictional, which makes sense as there haven’t been all that many space ships in reality, but humanity’s current real-life fastest is in on the fun too.

Which is faster – Voyager, or the Millennium Falcon? How about the Galactica? Or the Planet Express?

Find out here! Happy clicking.

🙂 😀 🙂

  1. I always knew that the TARDIS, and The Heart of Gold were the best ships in fiction.

    • Missing: Orion No, not the current one. The *real* Orion that was straight out of E.E.Doc Smith.

I had no idea that launching from the arctic could avoid magnetosphere issues…

Other missing: The Liberator. Note to young’ins: Blake’s Seven was kind of like a 1970’s firefly, only with a lot more episodes. I forgot the whole introduction, but the Liberator was either a non-empire artifact (although obviously designed for humanoids) or some sort of exclusive prototype. Its primary virtue was the ability to outrun the long arm of the law.

What do you think?
