I am constantly taking screenshots while playing. Something catches my eye, and before you know it, I have six images stored in my DDO folder. Most of them (by far the vast majority) will later make me wonder … what the hell is that? Why did I feel it necessary to screencap it?

Occasionally this continuous screenshottery will yield a decent image. I think it is a law of averages thing, if one takes enough screenshots then random chance will insure that some few of them will be on the good side of the bell curve distribution.

Now and then, one turns out brilliantly.

At irregular intervals, I share the best of them with you.

I don’t even need a good excuse. For instance, here are eight more images. Let’s say they are presented in honor of it being nearly summer (at least for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere).

You can see that I am still taking the big glamor shots but also finding interest in minutia. There is a lot of minutia in the game, often beautiful, nearly always overlooked. No more! I herewith determine to be the champion of minutia. More or less.

As before, these are taken in a nearly 2:1 aspect ratio. I’ve used them on a variety of devices including my phone with no issues. If you ever see one you really like but need to have it in a specific size or ratio, let me know, I will be happy to help.

Careful, only thumbnails are attached directly to this post for megabyte-related reasons. Click on the image to see the full-sized version.

Enough words. Pictures follow:

  1. Wow, beautiful pics! It truly is a beautiful game.

  2. Agreed! Warts and all, DDO still remains tops at environmentally breath-taking and detailed lands, dungeons and worlds. Your insight on the Forgotten Realm’s Drow buildings, with its tapestries and furniture, are a perfect example, too.

  3. Really cool pics! I love the water reflection tech in the game.

What do you think?
