One of my sons is visiting. He’s a gamer too, though his tastes go more into complex board games than RPG or online MMO. When he’s here we play a lot of Axis & Allies. My other son and my nephews are into A&A too, we get some huge games going over the holidays.

Battle!

Battle to the (tiny plastic) death!

When he’s not here we sometimes play Settlers of Catan online. But I digress.

The headline of this post is something he said to me this morning when he noticed I was logged into DDO. “You play every day?” he asked. I don’t have an every day habit but I do play most days. “It must be a pretty good game if you’re still playing almost every day after four years.”

That grabbed my attention. He’s right, of course, It is a pretty good game. Sometimes I get caught up in the minutia of pending changes or my latest build and forget. I’ve been an avid gamer, all types of games, for my whole life. DDO really is a good game! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. There are only 4 games I would give a 5/5;
    Dungeons & Dragons Online
    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
    Civilization III
    Half-Life 2

    I’m not usually a FPS fan, even though I have 2 of them on my list. I’m more of an RPG / Stratagy genra kind of guy, but these 4 games are the ones that have just made me go ‘wow.’

  2. It is a pretty good game =] not as good as some Ive played, but once when I thought I was going to quit… It dragged me back in… AND HERE I AM! =D

  3. I may try out portal 2, but I will be back to the DDOpium cause it is a pretty good game being a hard core 3rd edition PnP D&D gamer some of the changes they make, make me feel like they are leaving what works but I can understand that for an mmo you have to be flexible as it’s not turn based so that does change the dynamic of combat, but come on 10m is not point blank/Sneak Attack that should be around 5 warforged laid end to end and it’s not. (damn ended up ranting again)

What do you think?
