The coordinates of my last post are 20 minutes behind us. After leaving the subject as we found ….him?, we soon emerged from the shadow of the ridge and welcomed the warmth of the morning sun on our backs. In less than a kilometre from this transition the trail will climb perhaps a hundred meters while performing a 180-degree hook to the south.
Now traveling East towards the rising sun and the N-S ridgeline that we plan to eventually traverse, we re-enter the transition zone. This time we are leaving the sunlight and entering the shadow. It was moving fast and I turned to my left(North) just in time to capture the image below. I believe Sam and Frodo made far too big a fuss over their land of shadow. I quite enjoyed the experience if I do say-so myself!
I decided(realized?) that it might be a good idea to separate two creepy posts with a post about nothing more than a pretty picture. Hope you like it. 😉
