With the recent lagstorm lifted it has again become possible to try ambitious things in DDO. Like Anniversary Party Event speed runs. Which really aren’t all that ambitious, especially when run solo, but nonetheless were exercises in frustration up until recently.
Now they are only exercises in repetition. And that is one thing I can do pretty well – repetition, the art of doing the same thing over and over again until your head involuntary drops to the keyboard and suddenly it is morning.
That makes it sound more ambitious than it really is. Everything I want from the Anniversary Party sums up to 200 favors: a pair of level 5 hammers for my new gnome, a level 15 docent for my warforged Dalek, and two Broccoli Bashers I can share amongst whichever of my various melees are going to attempt Creeping Doom.
- Hammers: Check
- Docent: Check
- Broccoli Bashers: Not so much
That isn’t entirely honest, I would like more items, many more. Severlin’s Boots would be particularly nice on Chelena, there are other items that would work well on other characters. But at eight favors per run, well, I’m just going to have to made do with this short and aggressively prioritized list.
Oh by the way, I did get one one Broccoli Basher. I impatiently cashed one in even though I am about 30 Party Favors short of having both.
It is not at all what I’d expected. I thought it would look like the Bouquet of Flowers one may buy from the DDO store. But not at all, it is quite martial. Thoroughly weaponized broccoli, quite large and menacing and bludgeony. Also, with a very sparkly effect of some sort. Not sure which visual effect this is, not quite Holy, not quite Electric, I am not certain I’ve seen it on other weapons?
Doom of oozes everywhere
One down, one to go.
