Efreeti Maul of Crazy Expensive
I don’t think he’s going for volume sales

How much is a maul worth?

Imagine you are in a situation where your only hope is an Adamantine Maul. No other maul will do. Nor Lumps of Coal (just in case that comes up). Only a maul.

Only a plain, non-magic, not-even-a-masterwork adamantine maul. Only that.

Well, if that ever happens, you know where to go: off to the DDO Store to buy an Anvil of the Efreeti Forgemaster. Use of the item summons not only this efreet (shown above) but also his personal store of goods.

Including the above-mentioned adamantine maul.

And if you are that desperate, then maybe you’ll even be willing to pay the Efreeti’s price. Ignoring the other Efreeti maul even though it is three one-hundredths the cost. Ignoring the Lumps of Coal. Ignoring everything except for that 55119 platinum and six gold adamantine maul.

I wonder how many people have looked at that and thought “there must be something more to it. There must! Why would it cost so much?” and then bought it? Those poor saps, unable to resist their impulsive nature, throwing platinum away on something that is, at best, Cannith Crafting material.

I would not be one of those saps, I would never pay such a silly amount “just to see”. Never.

But I can resist! I would never buy one, certainly not in public.

As far as you know.
