Turbine is hosting two different versions of a summer blockbuster sale. One, for Steam users, consists of 75% off of Menace of the Underdark, Shadowfell Conspiracy, or the Catacombs starter pack.
75% off is pretty cool. It means the starter pack is only $2.50.
You can find the Steam sale here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/206480/
Note that you do not have to make a commitment to Steam to get this; it is possible to completely circumvent Steam and still get the specials. Forum user Franghasea walks us through one way to accomplish this in the forum post Steam Purchase When You Don’t Use Steam.
I do not know how long the Steam sale will last. If you are going to move on it, you should consider moving quickly.
The other version of this sale is via the DDO Market site. The Market has the same three items for sale, but also adds Shadowfell Conspiracy Collectors Edition, and a “base” MotU that is even less expensive – $5.00. You can also get 75% off of Half-Orcs. Druids too, but I think one would be much better off buying MotU for $8.75 with Druids included rather than spending $5.00 to get Druids alone.
But that’s just me.
The DDO Market sale will be in place until July 5. You have a week remaining, more or less.
One downside to this – regardless of which market you use – is that all of the specials are for real money only. Turbine Points need not apply. But … 75% off!
As a side note, you may or may not know that the standard version of Menace of the Underdark comes with four additional throw-in adventure packs, in addition to the three adventure packs that are already part of MotU.
Seven adventure packs in total, if I am counting right that is 24 quests. Plus three adventure areas. Plus a raid. Plus Druids, Epic Destinies, and Eveningstar challenges: I am declaring this to be officially a metric buttload of content, and it is less than $9.00.
If you’ve been waiting, stop. It is not going to get any better than this.
